Behind the pretty picture

A talk mostly for young and aspiring artists who recently made it into the industry or trying to find their first job. I am going to cover the definition of "concept art" as there is a common misconception about it in artistic communities. Also, I would like to talk about self-development, the importance and effectiveness of your own personal projects, and focusing your efforts on pushing your practical skills. Finally, I would give a couple of words about building portfolios, especially about "what should not be there" and about staying motivated and avoiding a "burnout effect".
